Karin Anne Hennehan, 28, was born just over the Walt Whitman bridge in Gloucester City, NJ- but she's always considered herself a daughter of Philadelphia. The middle of three, she spent a lot of time with her younger cousins in Philly as a child. As a child she was always the one playing dress up- pulling out outfits for anyone who would let her. She dabbled a little in design, mostly beading necklaces and bracelets to match clothes she found at the Goodwill over in Woodbury.
Karin has parlayed her love of fashion into a job. She went to the New School in NYC and got her degree in Fashion Merchandising. She moved back to Philly... the size of New York made her a little...nervous- for no good reason really. Her father racked it up to the fact that she's such a slight girl- but people who know Karin, know that can't possibly be it. After coming home she worked at a boutique in the Mount Airy neighborhood, but it never felt right. After being sent out on assignment for her dad (her mom's always been hard to buy for)- she knew personal shopping was what she wanted: a way to use her fashion sense AND spend other peoples money. She's worked at the Nordstrom at King of Prussia mall for the last two and a half years. She's recently started freelance shopping, taking a cue from her cousin Hazel and starting her own website -

Things in Philly went well for a while... until she realized that while home is where the heart is- sometimes the sea calls you home. Since her job was freelance and online, she could work anywhere- so she packed her bags and made her way to Brunswick, GA. It was different, but it was just what she needed- a change of scenery and a change of pace. She rented a small house downtown, doing stuff for she while she works at The Daily Grind to make sure her bills get paid.
They say good things come in small packages and thats also true for Karin... unless you get on her bad side. Yes, she's little - but she's feisty, and a fighter. She takes kick boxing classes every Thursday, and she holds her own. She's intensely loyal. She's been friends with her best friend since she was a kid. But don't get on her bad side- she forgives, but rarely if ever forgets.
Some of her favorite things: red and purple, text messaging, karaoke, oranges, polka dots, blue moon - with oranges NOT lemon, designer purses, her iPod, bed. And her least favorites: peeing in public restrooms, bad shoes, laundromats, the sound of her alarm clock. |
